RentWell
RentWell: The Goal
The goal of RentWell is to work towards breaking screening barriers and increase access to housing for those who face housing barriers. This is an extremely important goal; capable of creating a huge difference for many Portland residents. According to the City of Portland website, nearly 4,000 people in the city are without a permanent home. We are aiming to increase awareness of the work being done by our community partner Rent Well, a program of Transition Projects, based here in Portland, OR.
Transition Projects works to support residents throughout Oregon & Washington by delivering life-saving and life-changing assistance to vulnerable residents.
Established in 2009
Our community partner RentWell is a 15 hour education curriculum that helps provide individuals with the support, knowledge, and expertise required to become successful tenants. This program offers assistance to individuals that face tenancy barriers including but not limited to having never rented before, having a poor rental history, or having been evicted.
The Rent Well curriculum is divided into 12 sections covering topics such as fair housing laws, the rental screening process, credit repair, the eviction process, and much more.
